Like two characters in a Nicholas Sparks novel, these dogs from Bangkok are determined to be together against all odds.
The Thai pups are Messy (a yellow Labrador retriever) and Audi (a Siberian Husky), and they are best friends and neighbors who are sadly separated by a pesky wooden barrier.
Messy and Audi don’t let the fence dictate how much time they get to hang out. In fact, any time Audi gets lonely, Messy’s owner steps in and takes him over to comfort his pal. On an especially good day for the furry duo, Audi’s owner forgets to latch the gate and the two get to hug and talk shop like they’re the only two dogs in the world (pretty sure there’s a Rihanna song about that).
“When [Audi] feels lonely and cries, I always ask my dog to see and talk to him,” the lab’s owner, Oranit Kittragul, explained to The Dodo. “My dog just looks from my fence and sometimes he barks to [Audi]. I don’t know what they are communicating, but he stops crying.”
Be prepared to witness one of the absolute cutest photo of all time.
D’awww times a thousand.
“He ran to my dog and they hugged each other,” Oranit said of the precious moment between her companion and the sad Siberian.
These dogs are too pure for this world. I can’t function knowing cuteness like this exists and that these friends aren’t able to spend every waking moment together. Fate is a cruel, cruel thing.
It’s known that labs are one of the friendliest and most sociable dog breeds and the same is true for huskies, which are also not an inherently aggressive breed. Studies have even found that, because huskies are similar to wolves, they thrive in packs. This was true in cases where the dogs they were with were not biologically related to them.
“Even though many huskies are now kept as pets, their ancestral similarity to wolves and their domestication as working sled dogs cause them to maintain many of the social behaviors common to wild wolves.”
This only solidifies our hope that Audi and Messy’s owners will make plans to link up and go to a park. Or maybe just tear the fence down altogether?
LET LOVE RULE.
I’m so on the verge of starting an online campaign to unite these two dog brothers from another mother. There’s honestly just no way to comprehend the thought of them not hugging endlessly and having little dog picnics and frisbee tug-of-war sessions in rolling green grass.
Kickstarter and GoFundMe here we come.
Dog owners, please consider socializing your canine friend with other animals as much as possible. Think of all the sweet moments you could be missing.
The picture is going viral because it’s just too pure for this world. Guys, if you ever feel down, just look at this photo and remember – the universe is full of love. And if you enjoyed this post, do your friends a favor and share it!
